Carrara Markets Corvette Car Show - Fundraising Kicks Off

Damian was up early ready to head to the 2022 Corvette Car Show at Carrara Markets... This year he would be joined by the lovely Tricia to help shake the tins and kick off fundraising for the 2023 Camp Quality esCarpade!

But first... time for a sneaky Penguin Punk sticker, courtesy of the most generous Dan!

Heading out...

On the road, Tricia tried to get a nice pic of the sunrise and the moon in the sky...

Not bad given the fact they were driving down the highway at the time!

Heading up over the Gateway Bridge...

And at the Carrara Markets, lined up waiting to go in and set up.

Sneaky selfie with Tricia staying warm in the car!

Check out the impressive buttress roots on this tree...  they were about 1.5m tall!

Deja vu all over again!!  Same bat spot, same bat time, same batty people!

The 'vettes headed into the pavilion... It was going to be a fine and sunny day!

Queensland Corvette Club were the hosts of this event, and as always tremendous supporters of Camp Quality and Damian's fundraising efforts!

Damian grabbed a Wounded Heroes sticker also - the other charity supported by the Queensland Corvette Club who were also there fundraising!

The lovely Tricia, doing a fabulous job shaking the tin... err... bucket!

The crowds started to flow through...

Plenty of cars to see...

Damian's personal favourite is the blue 1956 Corvette in the foreground...

Tricia's favourite is this pink 1973 Corvette... it looks like a matchbox car in these images, but it's real!

Selfie...

And a snappy selfie for the fundraising duo!

Panoramic shot of inside the pavilion...

Getting set up for the trophy presentation...

After the trophy presentation, it was time for Damian and Tricia to head on home... Once home, the counting of the donation tins took place, and the total was... <drumroll>

$399.15

Thanks heaps to the Queensland Corvette Club, Mia from the Carrara Markets and all the visitors who gave generously not just to Camp Quality, but also to Wounded Heroes.

2022 esCarpade Day 8 - Drive Home

With the 2022 Camp Quality esCarpade done and dusted (and rained and mudded), all that was left was for the boys to head home from Coffs Harbour!

Fuel for Retro Rock-It, and for the boys!

Past this big yellow thing...

Australians sure do love their giant fruit tourist attractions!!

And out onto the highway...

The new bypass road saves a lot of time!

A fancy new bridge...

Up!!

The towers on the old bridge...

Another new bridge to the side of the old bridge...

Tunnels!

Who doesn't like a tunnel shot?

This bus looked as though it had been caught in floodwaters...

More tunnels!

This tunnel returns the boys to Queensland!

Tada!

Welcome to Queensland!

Beautiful one day, a traffic jam the next!

And just to complete the 2022 esCarpade theme - there were some roadworks!

Up and over the Gateway Bridge...

Jason was dropped home safe and sound...

Then more traffic on the way to Damian's house!

Straight on to dirt...

Retro Rock-It checking in at home!

Thanks to all the people who donated to Camp Quality, came along on esCarpade, followed the blog, commented on the blog, generally had a great time or just plain stumbled across this page...  Your support means a lot to the boys!

With a little over 18 months until the next esCarpade (the 2023 esCarpade will return to the regular October timeslot), there's plenty of time for Damian to ignore Retro Rock-It until there are only a few weeks to go!

Stay tuned!
