2018 esCarpade Day 8 - Drive Home from Wagga Wagga

The drive home from Wagga Wagga was going to be around 1300km, so the boys decided to set the alarm for 4am (NSW time) to hit the road...  Waking up around 2:30am, they decided to get up and go, hitting the road shortly after 3am...

The moon was out...

The roads were relatively empty...

Sunrise...

Forbes...  time for a coffee break and switch drivers!  Funny story...  A couple came into Maccas after while the boys were drinking their coffee and had a chat... Turns out the esCarpade route through to Cootamundra went past their place on Saturday - the bloke was the poor fella riding his horse up the road as the esCarpadians all went past!!

Train tracks...

And a train that somewhat missed the tracks!!

Into Dubbo...

Regular blog readers would recognise the form up area from when esCarpade had the Police escort into Dubbo a week earlier...

Gilgandra... time for a fuel stop and switching back of drivers...

Starting to get some big stuff going past on the highway...

Through Coonabarabran, and surviving the trip, just!

Trucks overtaking...

Another stop for coffee and a driver swap...

What's this big thing?

It's got tracks!!

Wide load - swimming pools...

Coming into Moree...

A REALLY wide load... so wide the boys had to leave the highway...

More roadworks...

Another VERY wide load!!

These things were really moving...

Past the Wobbly Boot Hotel...

Over the McIntyre River...

And back into Queensland!!

Into Goondiwindi for fuel and a bite to eat... passing this cool hot rod and caravan in the carpark...

Another driver swap, and back on the road...

The boys were planning on heading out through Milmerran and Toowoomba, but the GPS had other plans!!

Through Yelarbon...

Through Warwick...

And up and over Cunningham's Gap...

Past the plane on a stick...

And eventually, Angus was delivered home safe and sound!

Damian hit the road again...

One more causeway for giggles...

And safe and sound back in the shed...

The 2018 Camp Quality esCarpade was done and dusted...  Retro Rock-It had a few minor mishaps (serpentine belt, windscreen and flat tyre), and is in desperate need of an oil change and some transmission fluid before next year...  The strange miss in the engine seemed to get worse on the way home, so Damian might look into that also, but for now, it's time for the boys to spend some time with their families and have a well earned rest!

Thanks to everyone who supported the boys in their 2018 esCarpade adventure!
