New Battery... again!

Retro Rock-It's battery had died...  It was less than 12 months old, having been replaced by Damian when he bought the car!

In unrelated news, the artwork on the bonnet is seriously fading!

The battery was removed, and taken back to the shop.

After a week of testing, the battery people determined that even though they managed to resurrect the battery, it wasn't pumping out the number of Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) that it was meant to be, so it was replaced with a fresh, new battery!!

In with the new battery...

And it's back together again!!

Task one completed...  Retro Rock-It was driveable again, just in time for the first fundraising event in June!!

2017 esCarpade Thank You Event

Damian and his family were invited to attend the 2017 esCarpade thank you event - Adam and his family were also invited, but were unavailable.

Damian and Tricia's boys love to show they are now taller than mum!

But still not as tall as Damian!!

On the train heading into town...

At least some people don't have their faces buried in their phones...

Corvette Club Christmas Lunch

You can tell a lot about the quality of a car by the company it keeps...

So Retro Rock-It must be a goodie!!

Damian and the lovely Tricia had been invited to the Corvette Club of Queensland Christmas lunch, and of course, they said yes!

Damian being inconspicuous...

Santa's sleigh got a bit of an upgrade here!

Santa on his throne...

Damian being presented with a token of the Corvette Club's appreciation for supporting their annual concourse, first with Booger Mobile, and now with Retro Rock-It.  The Corvette Club have been long time supporters of Camp Quality, and Damian appreciates the ability to fundraise at their events.

Lining up in the hot sun trying to get a group photo...

And also a bit of a group video was taken (hence the hand waving).  This is a still image of the video capture process, take 312345423145235 or there abouts!

All in all, it was wonderful to spend a social afternoon with the Corvette Club of Queensland, and Damian looks forward to continuing to have their support in 2018.

Camp Quality Christmas Party

Damian loaded up the family into Retro Rock-It and headed across to Bribie Island for the annual Camp Quality South Qld Christmas Party.

Arriving, Damian found that the Legomobile had already arrived - two cars on display this year!

The boys and girls in blue turned up, and Damian showed just how much room there is inside the caged section - not much!!

Damian getting ready to perform MC duties.

The beautiful Tricia on an empty beach - this picture must have been taken before the crowds arrived!

As always, the Wallum Action Group made a donation - this year, it was a magnificent $15000!

Ending the day with a visit from Santa - Damian proves he is the biggest of all the kids there!!

Another great day was had by all the families and volunteers who attended.  Thanks of course to the tireless work of the various Lion's and Lionesses Clubs who put the day on each year to bring smiles to the faces of Camp Quality kids and their families.

esCarpade 2017 - Day 8 - Drive Home from Toowoomba

The boys woke up bright and early in Toowoomba, and with just a 2 hour drive home, they were keen to hit the road...

The sun was bright...

Quick stop at Maccas for a coffee...

Then on the road!!

Heading down the range...

Behind a nice XM...

Oh... an XM Coupe!!

And on the open road...

Minor diversion here... tank on a low loader, with the road blocked off further up the road...  Perhaps a mishap with another tank?

At the exit...

Adam safely delivered home...

On Damian's street...

And at the front gate, ready to surprise his family with an early arrival!!

One of the shortest trips home from esCarpade ever...  A good run was had with Retro Rock-It... Damian has a few things to sort out before next year's event, but all in all, it was a good trip.

Thanks to all the supporters, readers of the blog and people who donated to Camp Quality to help Retro Rock-It achieve the fantastic result that was achieved.

Bigger and better next year!!
