The boys were up early in Parkes and fanging for a coffee...
In finding coffee, they also found a statue of Henry Parkes...
Once the sun came out, the others were up and about...
So it was time for a breakfast selfie... missed Damian and Jason though!!
Take two... nope! Damian blames the camera...
Relented and asked a staff member to take the photo!
The boys headed off to get fuel...
Past an old train...
Before heading back to the motel to check on Tony in 808 who was busy topping up his transmission fluid...
Jason was driving today, so Damian kicked back in the passenger seat!
Stopped in Forbes to check the transmission fluid in Tony's car...
And a header on a truck (wide load) went past... They make an appearance later in the blog also!
And into the first lot of roadworks for the day!
Stopped at the next lot of roadworks... time for some vehicle shots... Retro Rock-It...
Tony's Purple People Eater!
Jim took this photo of the header at the roadworks!
Clearance under the gantry...
This place looks a bit boring...
Bit breezy out here... dust storm!
More roadworks... and still behind the wide load!
The header continued straight, and the boys turned left!
Damian's selfie with Purple People Eater out the rear window...
Silos... non painted this time.
And a surprising number of railway crossings...
And locals trailing farm equipment...
Surprise!! More roadworks...
Rest stop... Jim photobombs!
Retro Rock-It... going well!
Crossing the mighty Murrumbidgee!!
And into the land of the tumbleweeds!
Surprise bouncing tumbleweed!
And getting more!! Tumbleweeds crossing!
And of course, more silos!
This one with a fancy old train!
Looks like a place to stop and get ice... Except nothing was actually open (or even existing).
Fancy painted tower though!
Yerong Creek is where this was, in case you want to go check it out!
Tumbleweeds... this was after Jason already cleared them at Yerong Creek!
And of course, more roadwork!
On the home stretch to Albury...
And this car merged onto the highway... CATMUM... ROFL.
And the boys arrived safe and sound in Albury...
They are the only ones from esCarpade staying at their motel tonight, but apparently there are quite a few checking in tomorrow...
Time to catch up with some old friends, make some new ones, have a good night's sleep then head to scrutineering bright and early Saturday morning... Coming up - Day 0!
