2022 esCarpade Day 3 - Forbes to Wellington to Mudgee

Well, just as a special treat, the photos have actually uploaded in the correct order this afternoon!!

Was pretty dark and cool when Damian got up this morning...

Forbes was crisp...

The breakfast location was the Lions Park...

Beside a lake that looked like a river...

Complete with an old bridge.

Not the Tary Club of Forbes...

The Rotary Club of Forbes put on a delicious breakfast for the esCarpadians!

And Coffee by Larz...

Damian doing his morning breath test...

Cars lined up in the car park...

The various shirts of esCarpade... Committee Members like to let everyone know they are one!

This bloke doesn't look all that Official...

Ah.. it's Grant from Courageous Corey stepping in at the last minute!

And the Entrants are readily identified...

Ben's morning driver briefing...

Heading out onto the road...

Over the old bridge...

Past downtown Forbes...

And onto the morning track...

Wasn't too long before they were on the dirt...

Oncoming tractor!

Seems appropriate that the boys were on The Bogan Way...

Silos...

Code Yellow!

Damian was driving, with Jason navigating the morning route...

These two action shots were sent through by Bill and Carmel from Car 99!!

Not only were they on The Bogan Way, but they also found Bogan Road!

Reg and Di in OKA stalking the field...

And as has been the theme of this trip - stopped at roadworks!

Yep, he can have right of way!

Water crossing!

Grid!  And the fun stop...

Nothing says fun like a framed photo for a pair of brothers!

More roadworks...

One of the two-twos having a minor conniption again...

Bridge over a very nice creek...

And arriving in sunny, downtown Wellington for lunch...

Parked in a shady spot!

Damian has a selfie with Grant...

And with Robyn and Adelle who were doing the lunchtime check-ins!

Inside the cow and calf hotel...

In the middle of lunch, the call went out to do a drive-by on a school... Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions there are no actual school visits, but all the kids and teachers were lined up at the fence watching the parade...

Up and back twice, then back to lunch!

Ben's driver briefing for the afternoon route...  There was a section that was unpassable due to flooding!

Jason passing his lunchtime breath test...

And on the road to Mudgee...

Damian was navigating for the afternoon, with Jason taking over steering duties!

Water!

And a grid!!  There were many, MANY grids on the afternoon track.

Tractor!

And cows on the road...

This one tried to stare Retro Rock-It down...

Car 215 Mini Mouse demonstrating the correct grid technique!

Some of the afternoon track was pretty rough...

Another broken two-two...

Growing some feed crops...

There were several water crossings also!

More cows... just before a grid!

Alpacas... or maybe Llamas...  Definitely not Kerry Packers!

At the afternoon fun stop, Damian noticed that the rear bumper was looking a bit average...

Purely by coincidence, Jason had parked on a rock that perfectly demonstrated why you let your tyres down on the dirt...

Flex!

Back on the road towards Mudgee...

Welcome to Mudgee!

Checking in...

Then a quick tour of the town!

The underside of the rear bumper looks even worse... looks like the boys have a job on the lay day in Mudgee!  Step 1 - clean car... Step 2 - ensure bumper can't fall off!

esCarpadians lined up at the motel...

So that's halfway through the driving on the 2022 Camp Quality esCarpade... there were some fantastic tracks today, with a bit of rough stuff thrown in.

Damian will be uploading some videos on Wednesday, so look out for that!

With a lay day tomorrow (day off in Mudgee), there will be a reasonable party tonight!  Stay tuned for an evening blog post - maybe late tonight, maybe tomorrow - just depends how Damian feels!
