Damian was up early again in Caloundra - step one - check that Retro Rock-It had had a good rest overnight!

At the top, there was a big patch of coolant, so one of the vehicles wasn't happy...
Through the scenic streets of Montville, Flaxton and Mapleton.
And onto the dirt... some of the roads were nice and smooth, some had speed bumps that could just about launch an unwary driver and their vehicle into space!
These guys were in need of a new shock absorber, as that one was in two pieces! Not ideal...
Eventually the roads smoothed out a little...
Some nice old buildings were passed... this one seems surprised!

It was very dusty and dry... the dust just seemed to hang over the track at some points!

The morning stage was so long, that around this point, Damian's camera ran out of battery. Not too long after this, all the entrants were directed to drive up the highway to lunch and bypass the remainder of the route notes, so not a lot was missed anyway!
Damian charged up his camera over lunch, then it was time to hit the road!
Hoges took over driving duties...
Another whole page of route notes was removed, so the first 30km or so was straight up the highway...

The dirt roads were pretty smooth for the afternoon session...
Then it was back onto the bitumen for the run into Bundaberg.
Another great day was had - some challenging tracks, a few laughs and some beautiful scenery!
