Fiddly Bits - Less Than One Week to Go!!

With esCarpade now less than one week away, Retro Rock-It was in need of some fiddly bits to be sorted out in preparation...  Adam came around for the final Sunday working bee before esCarpade!!

First cab off the rank was to test the external speakers, and adjust the mp3 player so that the poor speakers weren't being blown out by the bass...  Naturally, there are no pictures of this, as it's difficult to take a photo of sound!!  ;-)

Next up, it was time to paint the remaining four wheels...  Off with the rear wheels...  While they are off, time for a check-up...  all looks good under there - no leaks or gouges to worry about!!

And hey presto, the wheel has changed colour!!

Time for the front wheels... Merlin, of course, standing by for his photobomb!!

Wheels off ready for a paint...  While they are off, it might be a good time to install the front mudflaps!!

Through the magic of the interwebs, the front mudflaps are installed...  In reality, it took quite a while to work out how to attach them, trimming them slightly to fit in behind the existing plastic inner guard, drilling holes to line up etc...  Of course, the driver's side took about 5 mins after doing all the hard work on the passenger side!!

And back on the ground... Merlin  kicking back with a job well done!!

What a mess...  Two spare tyres, the vacuum cleaner and compressor (to use the rattle gun to undo the fill plug on the side of the automatic transmission)...

At this point, Damian's camera went flat...  not shown is the topping up of the automatic transmission fluid, checking and topping up the engine oil, covering up a hole in the spare wheel well in the boot that was missing its oval shaped bung to seal it... 

Damian and Adam will be heading down to esCarpade on Friday morning, 20 October.  Retro Rock-It is pretty much ready... (well, as ready as it's going to get), other than packing. 

The boys' fundraising tally is sitting at $8161.74, so there's still time to get in for a last minute donation if you haven't got around to it yet!!
