esCarpade 2017 - Day 0 - Scrutineering in Port Macquarie

The first "official" day of the 2017 Camp Quality esCarpade had finally arrived - known as Day 0, it involves scrutineering and the official welcome dinner... the first day of driving will be Sunday.

After waking up in Port Macquarie, it was time for the boys to find a coffee...

At Maccas, they were given a number for their coffee to be brought out...  Number 64!!  Must be a sign from the golden arches that all will be fine!!

Lined up at scrutineering, with the good folk from Marine Rescue NSW cooking the BBQ in the background...  There was meant to be a coffee truck as well, but apparently the drizzly rain made it too wet for them to attend...

Up on the hoist...

Reg having a good look around...

When esCarpade comes to town, they really take over the whole area!!

And up the street the other way, too!!

Scrutineering was held at the TJM dealership in Port Macquarie...  The Incredibles look... well... incredible!!

Having bottomed out leaving the hotel, and again parking in the Maccas carpark, Damian though that the suspension might need to be a little higher...

Side view shows that there's nowhere near as much ground clearance as there was on Booger Mobile, and this is exacerbated by the additional overhang to the rear... Although this does give the extra boot space, so you take the good with the bad!!

After doing a bit of a lap around Port Macquarie, the boys found that there was nowhere to buy suitable suspension... sounds like that will be a job for next year!

Time for the boys to have a bit of a rest, catch up with arriving teams, maybe a quiet drink or two before the driver briefing at 5pm, followed by the official welcome dinner.
